Recent Services and Events

Messy Church at Old Roan – Sunday 14th June 2026

The children had great fun at our recent Messy Church as they explored the theme of God being everywhere, even when we are away on holiday.

Each of the children created their own picture using sand and made colourful water scenes by blowing bubbles, through a straw, into paint and transferring them onto card. Through these creative (and sometimes messy!) activities, they were reminded that wherever they go this summer, God is always with them.

We also enjoyed some games outside in the sunshine, making the most of the beautiful weather. To round off a wonderful afternoon, everyone was treated to an ice cream!

MadUkes Concert – Saturday 25th April 2026 at 7pm

We enjoyed a truly uplifting and joyful evening together on Saturday at Old Roan for the Maghull and District Ukulele band concert, with many sharing how much they appreciated the evening. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, filled with plenty of singing that brought everyone together, along with a little light-hearted dancing that added to the sense of celebration. It was a wonderful opportunity to connect and have fun together. We look forward to gathering again soon.

Easter Themed Messy Church – Sunday 22nd March 2026

We had an amazing time exploring the Easter story through creative arts and crafts, followed by an exciting Easter egg hunt out in the garden filled with laughter and fun! Revd Darren Garfield then brought everyone together for a joyful reflection on what we’d discovered, with plenty of singing, dancing, and smiles for all ages.

Carols By Candlelight Service – Sunday 21st December 2025

We gathered together for Our Carols by Candlelight service, shared reflections, prayers and plenty of Christmas Carols that were led by a group of amazing musicians.

Following the service, we gathered for tea, coffee and lots of Mince Pies!
