The Circuit Spotlight: What’s New?

The Circuit Spotlight: What’s New?

Messy Church at Old Roan – Sunday 14th June 2026

The children had great fun at our recent Messy Church as they explored the theme of God being everywhere, even when we are away on holiday.

Each of the children created their own picture using sand and made colourful water scenes by blowing bubbles, through a straw, into paint and transferring them onto card. Through these creative (and sometimes messy!) activities, they were reminded that wherever they go this summer, God is always with them.

We also enjoyed some games outside in the sunshine, making the most of the beautiful weather. To round off a wonderful afternoon, everyone was treated to an ice cream!

Celebrate! + Pizza & Paint – Half‑Term Events at County Hub

On Wednesday our theme was Celebrate! There were games to play and crafts which focused on cake, wind, flames and different languages! Before a tasty lunch of pasta & sauce with optional chicken and / or cheese and fresh fruit, we used our crafts to re-tell the story of Pentecost – the birthday of the church. The morning was full of laughter and fun, some new friendships were made, and each child went home with a gift! On Friday we learned we have a Man City supporter amongst us, as we got creative designing and painting tote bags, pencil cases and scrunchies. The small pool table was a great success, and Lego is always enjoyed! Pizza making was on the menu that day, and our theme of Celebrate! continued, as one of our young volunteers celebrated her 17th birthday that day! Many thanks to the volunteers who make these sessions possible.

Fundraising Christmas Concert for Linacre Mission

On Saturday 6th December, almost 200 people came together for a special Christmas Concert in support of Linacre Mission. The event featured a wonderful variety of performers from across the circuit and the wider community, all of whom generously volunteered their time and talent. Some groups had only met a few times to rehearse, yet delivered incredible performances on the day. The concert took place in the newly refurbished Albert Walker Hall, a stunning space that left us all in awe.

A heartfelt thank you goes to the amazing volunteers who helped set up, tidy away, prepare refreshments, and bring so much joy to the event—your support is truly appreciated.

Thank you to our wonderful local businesses – Bluebird Bistro, Serenity Healing, Incrediwax Candles and Gifts and the Plaza Community Cinema – for the incredible raffle prizes you so generously donated. Your kindness made a huge difference to the event.

An extra-special thank you goes to Mark and Dave, our dedicated “Tech Guys,” who spent countless hours planning, preparing and setting up to ensure the concert ran seamlessly. It simply wouldn’t have been possible without your expertise and guidance, and we are all so grateful to you.

The event raised an amazing total of £900!
